[pd016] psonikadia - tranquility abiding
psonikadia is a busy man. just a few short months after delivering 'purpleman' he has returned with 'tranquility abiding', a 23 minute collection of analog-infused ambience. these 6 slow-moving tracks slowly dive and turn as careful modulation skirts on the fringes. this release stays firmly planted in the realms of meditative/uplifting ambience and down-tempo grooves. masterfully orchestrated as always, psonikadia's latest is sure to please fans of ocean-side warmth and afternoon rain.
[pd015] psonikadia - purpleman
"purpleman", the latest offering from psonikadia, is nothing short of pure ear candy bliss. beginning with the meditative "beeyond", a 4-minute journey into the nether voids of the subconscious, this release is immediately and immensely enjoyable. the release continues to push boundaries with "delicate herd", a masterful conglomerate of musical styles that is above and beyond the most austere of genre-labelers. the ep slows down for a moment with "into deep" and "wisdom realizing emptiness", two deeply beautiful tracks that are stark testaments to the old adage "less is more". tribal beats meet lush brilliance as "Xezo" finishes out the release on a positive vibe. clocking in at just under 16 minutes, "purpleman" is a short listen but well worth the time. no doubt a few of these tracks will make it into your regular playlists, and the ever evolving soundscapes that psonikadia delivers will turn up something new on every listen.
[pd014] conosphaera - music made in someone else's bedroom
conosphaera's "music made in someone else's bedroom" is a collection of pieces created while, well, living in somebody else's bedroom. in the artist's own words, "the groundwork for all of those recordings was laid while being holed up in a friend's massive loft bed, surrounded by nothing but sound-equipment and with a cat as the only company - hence the title." this 5-track ep of analogue tone wizardry, created between winter and spring of 2006, marks conosphaera's sophomore effort on post-digital. this ep is a snapshot in time from the artist's life, detailing moods and memories, projects undertaken, events witnessed, and inspiration. fans can expect more of conosphaera's signature analogue-soup dark minimalism with focus given on creating more defined melodies ("ardennes" and "am i really here").
